Kearny Street (18 x 18)
18” x 18” Oil and Gold Leaf on Wood Panel, 2017. Glancing down the alley at Kearny Street, in San Francisco, in the rain. Hoping that the rain will break walking down Bush Street in San Francisco. This one is smaller than most (I like to paint big), and it is a part of a series of four that I painted for our holiday show. The first layer was made with gold leaf, with a scrape on top of it. It gives this luminescent glow that captures that warm and cozy feeling that the holidays bring, despite the fact that it is a painting of a very wet and cold day.
