Rainy Night in San Carlos (2018) - 30" x 30" oil on wood panel
This image depicts a young woman waiting in the rain as the train approaches. Painted in oil using a brayer and lots of layers of resist. 30" x 30" oil on cradled wood panel. Rainy Night in San Carlos is obviously all about the light flying everywhere. It was painted using brayers, except for a little blending brush action on the street lights. What I like about this one is the strength of the image. There is a loneliness, and yet the colors are warm, contrasting with this cold, wet night.
